What are the health benefits of Saunas and Steamrooms?
February 21st, 2009 | by health |Amilucky0707 asked:
I belong to a health club this summer that has a Sauna and steamroom. They are really relaxing, but are they good for you otherwise? The sauna is 180 degrees, and the steamroom is 110 degrees, so they make you sweat a lot, and lose a lot of water, so unless they are good for you I don’t want to use them.

I think the idea is that saunas and steamrooms help you to release the toxins through your pores. Sweating vigorously for awhile can also improve the condition of your skin if you wash it right after. There’s also some belief that it relieves pain related to breathing problems, arthritis, and allergies. The whole process of letting yourself sweat like that is very cleansing in a New Age sort of way, and doing it every once and a while is probably quite beneficial, as long as you drink lots of water after to rehydrate yourself.

Steam rooms and saunas are great for relaxing, releasing the toxins from your body, and help to lose water weight. They have great benefits from using them so keep using them. I used to go into traditional native sweats that get ten times hotter than any sauna or steam room. If you have trouble trying to breathe, lean forward and take deep breathes. And if you don’t like to use them, just go like once or twice a week. But yes they are good for you.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!
