Chairman Rangel on Children’s Health Care
November 26th, 2009 | by health |
Today, the House will take up legislation to concur with the Senate amendments to H.R. 2, State Childrens Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) Reauthorization Act. Passage by the House will send the bill to the Presidents desk for his signature. This legislation reauthorizes and improves SCHIP. The Senate-passed version is very similar to the bill that the House passed on January 14 by a vote of 289-139. SCHIP was created in 1997 to provide health care coverage for children in modest-income families that earn too much for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private insurance. Over the last ten years, it has proven to be a successful and cost-effective program for providing health care.

I can’t say I disagree with his position on the bill, infact I believe I agree with how he explained the cigarettes tax the best, though with the voice of a heavy smoker it seemed kind of funny, even if he doesn’t, either way, all the Reps are celebrating the passing of this bill it seems, and really just seems like they’re wasting a lot of time prasing something good they did, at least in their opinion.

Mr Rangel better start smoking cigarettes in quantity to help pay for the SCHIP program.
Won’t you help a poor child get healthcare? Start smoking cigarettes today - Congress and the President approves - it’s OK, we need the money. It’s all good…..
The next bill to be proposed is to drop the smoking age in the country so more kids will be helping to pay their own way with taxes.

Maybe if Mr Rangel and several other high ranking democrats paid their taxes we’d have more money for childrens healthcare.
