Bull Crap. If I were sick and had the choice of those three countries, I’d go to Cuba any day of the week. Who would like to wait forever in Canada? Who would like the costs of the US? I’d go for the free immediate attention. And guess what? years later, Cuba still has free and brilliant health care.

im cuban, is true that in cuba healthcare is free FREE, medicines costs nothing (hard to find them but we are in a poor country)cubans has no worry about medicare, healthcare is not a bussiness there, no private clinic waits for your desease to ear money and make profits.

Yeah, there’s an interview with Moore conducted by Democracy Now’s Amy Goodman where he explains how NBC first barred him for showing Cuba as the winner, then deceitfully edited Canada into 1st place before air time.
Clever idea.
I have to say though, its totally deceptive to say that Cubans pay nothing. They’re nearly fully taxed, so they pay for their medical service before their paycheck arrives, not at the hospital.
Clever and probably stirs peoples’ minds, but not honest.

I agree… You can’t really factor in speculation as to wether or not Cuba will be able to keep up its standards (I think Sicko demonstrates that it has) in the future… At the time, the Cuban hospital simply gave their paitent the best care, regardless of wether they could do the same five or ten years down the track…

According to Michael Moore, Cuba won the competition but the network would not allow that, so they made Canada the winner. Ah, “freedom of speech!” Just look at the footage and it’s obvious Cuba had the most difficult injury and took acre of it the fastest with no cost to the patient.
