So, don’t worry TheRabbitHole, there are others who are willing and able to spend they taxes on the CHILDREN of illegal immigrants. Anyway, isn’t it better that your money is going to save children rather than KILL children in Iraq? Or do you not consider those who are “foreign” to be your equal. Educate yourself. Take anthropology, history, sociology, and economics courses. Sounds like you need to learn a few things.

Do your research before stating something so ignorant. Immigrant, illegal and legal, contribute more to the economy than any other group in the United States. Why do you think there wasn’t a strong effort to cut back on illegal immigration during the administration? Additionally, most of the taxes that are paid by legal immigrants aren’t used by immigrants. They use 10% of the amount they contribute to services.

I guess every single Democrat and every single Republican out there are in cahoots on this issue – roflmao. You want Orwellian rhetoric, look no further than your hero Bush. Oh yeah, and repeating Alinsky’s name with no context or idea of why you are even saying that name except that you were told to do so by the right wing des NOT make you look smart. I guess everything to the left of Pinochet’s brutal dictatorship is a “nanny state” to you.

Uhm, no it’s not universally lauded, it’s the next incremental step being used to socialize our medical system. I really don’t care if Bush bragged about it. It’s a cynical “for the children” tactic to increase government control of the system. And it’s not SCHIP per se that Alinsky-esque, it’s Obama’s Orwellian rhetoric. I’ll maintain my grip on reality while you bend over and grab your ankles for the nanny state.

Uhm – It’s a universally lauded program that provides health care to kids who need it. Bush even bragged about helping to bring the Texas version when he was Governor. It has nothing to do with just Obama, with Alinsky or any other tin foil hat conspiracy theory you want to cook up. Grab a hold of reality and hold on.

I love how the feds sneakily refer to this as a state chip, rather than federal chip. Are they using the term “state” in the general sense, or does this mean that SCHIP is actually an unfunded mandate for all 50 states, with no support or backing from the federal gov’t?

This is chilling. We are all so very, very, very screwed.

“There’s nothing to fear. The state will be your mommy and daddy.”

Socialization = modernization in the Obama/Alinsky propaganda lexicon.

About the illegal immigrant issue, if the parents were not here illegally, then their kids wouldn’t be either. We should not have to pay for children whose parents are illegal and don’t pay taxes like everyone else. It’s just not right.

Also the kids are not illegal immigrants their parents. If there are born here then they are citizens so you republicans need to be quiet.

What a relief to finally listen to a coherent President and see government do something that we really need like make health care available to more kids. by the way, the program is for kids who are here legally. it’s good to get your facts right, at least.

President Obama and Congress now need as many Americans as possible to buy packs of cigarettes as often as they can.

If you don’t smoke, give them to someone else who does, or throw them out.

This SCHIP expansion is too important for the government to fail!

    It’s for the Children.

Smokers – Thank you for smoking

This is BS, what have the children ever done for us. Bush had the right idea, if their not old enough to go to Iraq, let em starve.

I don’t have a problem with health care coverage for AMERICAN children but why do we now have to pay for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS? Ohhhhhhh … I forgot … our President falls into that category. Also, I know smokers get hit because it’s a ‘sin tax’ but what about alcohol?? Oh, that’s right … they don’t want to curtail drinking, as there’s too much revenue there with DUIs. Government never ceases to amaze me, and with Obama in charge, it just gets more crazy. What next??

To all you tax payers and smoker here is away reduce the cost for the child SCHIP bill. Go buy a carton of cigarettes and hand them out to 12 and 13 year old children. Then once they get addicted they will increase the number of smokers to pay the taxes.
Also since the Demo Congress said there is no need for these children or parents to have a valid SS#, all you people living in Mexico can now get free medical treatments for your children.
