The Health Dangers of Genetically Modified Foods

This is a lecture by Jeffrey Smith, in which he summarizes the contents of this book. It’s not only informative, but amusing, because he casts a joke here and there.

yes! its definatly dangerous! look the honey bees are dieing from GM, more food allergies that ever in history, corruption in the FDA, i did a report on it, people should look up, they dont protect us like they use to. the best example is cigarrettes, they cause cancer yet the fda doesnt regulate it, isnt it obvious everyone, moneys the control mechanism lol. the best way to improve crops is to give the plants the right fertilizers from the begginning, nature has already made the best genetics

Africa’s problems originate from the same architects of control that brring you GM foods. The Public/private partnership, between Corp and Govt with the push from behind fom the bankers is ruining the world with corruption and upwards consolidation of wealth. It’s all linked with New World Order agenda.

ok, it’s true.. But we have collected information for 15 years so it’s not a short time.
Alcoholic is also poisonous but we do not prohibit it.
Perhaps GMO should prevail in Africa at first. They have bigger problem than the effects of GMO.

People who has eaten GM food live more than 80 years…
In Hungary we eat bio foods and we live 60 years..
I can see how tolerant people are there… You don’t want to watch the opposite opinion (for ex: erict…)

HUH? Very FEW tomatoes are genetically modified right now! MOST are “hybrids” which is NOT a genetic modification!
However, about 90% of SOY is genetically modified and nearly as much feed corn is also - so if you are eating grain-fed beef …
good luck to your intestinal microbia.
By erict979 on Mar 10, 2009 | Reply
Not necessarily: Hybrid means they have crossbred 2 kinds of tomatoes. The 2 kinds could have been natural or genetically modified. The chance that at least one of the kinds was modified is quite high though, since most of the tomatoes are genetically modified nowadays. I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you. GM food is often healthier than natural food.

At this point, I don’t think it’s logical to really argue for or against genetic engineering because we don’t have substantial LONG-TERM studies. And whether or not it caused health problems in the case of L-tryptophan does not necessarily mean it’s harmful in ALL cases. We really need to conduct some long-term studies before we put too much effort into arguing for or against it.

Seeds of Deception - what an appropriate title.

“PEER reviewed”.
And, since you’re arguing with the evidence in the video, you need to actually SITE your evidence if you want it taken seriously.
By clydesight on Mar 15, 2009 | Reply
I agree with this video, we need to monitor and check what is being done “for us”. Check out soy oil, that’s a revelation, and it is in so many processed foods! Remember, the bottom line is the money, not the health.

lol “trust my government” well I’m not American… so no I don’t trust the US government, however I do trust the pier reviewed papers stating GM foods are safe! Stating facts like GM food causes mutations is not only contradictory to the papers but in fact SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE.. so in response, yes I have done my homework and I have done some reading, I can assume you havent since the average reading age in the US is 9yo.. but I wont hold that against you
By mothball667 on Mar 18, 2009 | Reply
sure of course the FDA is in fact evil and are not doing what there supposed to be doing etc etc… lefty conspiracy rubbish… the fact still stands that ALL SCIENTIFIC DATA SO FAR SAYS GM FOODS ARE SAFE AND PRESENT NO ENVIROMENTAL DANGER. not one pier reviewed paper says otherwise. sorry but the left greenies are reponsible for millions of deaths through the banning of DDT and lobbying african governments saying GM foods are dangerous.

Way to important to have this few hits.
I myself do eat biological food where I can.
It’s the biggest luxury one can acquire these days.
Very nice speech, Mr. Smith is doing a great job.

I totally agree with you!
I may not be an expert on GMOs, but I’m still completely against the idea of manipulating genes that were formed perfectly by the billions of years of evolution. All GMOs are good for is profit. People are messing around with science a bit too much, regardless if it’s beneficial or not, maybe we’re altering evolution, who knows.
By mothball667 on Mar 28, 2009 | Reply
rubbish! the science says otherwise, in america gm foods are regulated by the FDA so what this really is about is the greenies being agens’t the government and there rediculus conspiracy bull.
